Since having the privilege to experience a viewing of 'Song of the New Earth' recently I have been reflecting on the lusciousness of being human that often gets overlooked. I understand that each time I am exposed to a new reference for something and it resonates well within me... it can have the power to shift things and I am able to reframe my experience and understanding of things past, present and future. This has the power to change my physiology, my reality. A lot of what was shared in this documentary resonated with me and it crosses over to how I use colour in my artworks. Since my arts practice moved into intuitive painting which is really another word for a deep practice of expressive art, I have learned to let go of outcomes with regards to the painting process and aesthetics. The old me used to show up to the blank canvas with a sense of fear, and I would churn over ideas before finally beginning a painting with a definite plan. I would always have a notion of what image I was trying to achieve. Now the new me, goes to a blank canvas with an unencumbered sense of embracing all the possibilities of a new work, ready to listen within to what colours I am drawn to and what strokes are wanting to be born. I also wait for the work to tell me if it finished. I suppose why this is relevant to the 'Song of the New Earth' documentary is that I believe I am working with energy, Divine energy wanting to be expressed through me! Through vibrations that I am tuning into which are then expressed via the vibrational levels of colours.
I seem to be doing things back to front. Through the practice of intuitive painting, I am finding my paintings are teaching me things after they are completed! It occurred to me after watching this documentary and another little video that turned up on Facebook which showed Sargy Mann, an artist who is now blind that paints and it really got me thinking about the vibrations of colour. We all know that there are proven theories out there about the effects of colour on the moods and even physical effects on people. I have had the sense that art as a tool for wellbeing can be beneficial for more than just for the artist in the process of creation but for the viewers who allow themselves to truly engage with the finished artworks. I truly believe that artworks have the potential to hold and radiate energy. I believe artworks carry two forms of energy, the energy of creation that flows through the artist to the surface and the energy of the colours and possibly forms. Being that I have already identified that my works are a form of prayer and/or meditation.... I see my arts practice as being one and the same with my spiritual and human practice! I simply cannot separate them. BEING an arts practitioner has assisted to unify previously disjointed aspects of my BEINGNESS. I AM now so much more than an arts practitioner and I hesitate to define it for fear of setting limitations for myself. I am believing more and more with absolute joy that the human potential is bigger than most of us can even begin to imagine!

"Bliss be you & all those around you!"
This is a portrait of One.
She is every body, she is no body.
She is portrait and she is landscape.
She is dust and she is the stars.
She is earthly and she is universal.
She is the north, she is the south,
she is east and she is west,
she is below and she is all of the above.
She is the collective, she is unique,
she is cells divided and she is whole.
She is your soul.
She is dark and she is light.
She is the war that is one, without a fight.
She is bliss and she is sorrow.
She is yesterday, today and she is tomorrow.
She is stillness, she is movement,
she is shifting here and there.
She is the water and she is the air.
She is the breeze, the ease and the dis-ease.
She is the cause and the effect.
She is the pollution and the solution.
She is the one you admire and the one you detest.
She is the one to manifest.
She is the hope and the despair,
she is the one that will always care.
She is everything you can imagine and more.
She is rich and she is poor.
She is attached and non attached,
anchored only by ones beliefs.
She is free and she is imprisoned.
She is death and she has risen.
She is the string theory holding her in place.
She is moving through pathways in outer space.
She is destructive and she is creative,
she is full of grace.
She is courageous and she is vulnerable.
She is all that is... and she is tranquil.
She is full and she is empty.
She is awake and she is sleepy.
She is chaos and she is equanimity.
She is the consciousness of one.
She is a miracle.
She is you, she is me, she is us.
She is a he, he is a she, she is neither nor.
existing as all that is.
She is the Divine One.

I am putting it out there! I need all the help I can to achieve this... So I am trusting the universe has my back! This is probably going to be achieved in a manner that may be a little outside the square! Something more like... Inside the circle! If you like my intention... Please help by sharing my post with others! Every little bit helps! Thanks so much! xoxo ❤
Feeling a little frustrated this morning... I took a walk on the beach to unwind and let go! I am so glad I did... nature is the perfect antidote to stress and I allowed myself to be with my surroundings! I noticed the luscious bubbles of the surf and it was just the inspiration I needed to play more with my current piece!
